Need some help understanding the information on your electricity bill?


Your Festival Hydro bill summarizes your energy and water usage and charges that have accrued during the current billing period.

Head to our “Residential Electricity Rates” or “Commercial Electricity Rates” pages for more information about the charges on your Festival Hydro electricity bill.

Notice for Residential Customers

Effective April 19, 2021 Festival Hydro will no longer be mailing paper notices to advise customers of outstanding account balances. To notify customers that an account is in arrears a prerecorded call will be placed to the phone number that has been provided as the contact on the account. Please review the contact details that you have provided and make any updates as necessary to ensure that we can reach you in order to facilitate payment arrangements or to discuss assistance programs that may be available.

If you receive a call about your account or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact customer service by email or by calling 519-271-4700 and selecting option “2” when prompted.

1. Home & Business Address Information

If you are the person receiving the invoice, your name and mailing information will be listed here.

Near the top left hand side of the bill you can locate the name and adress of the business or indiuvidual who is being billed.
2. Account Number

Please have this number ready if you are contacting our customer service centre.

The box on the top right of your bill wil display the account number, billing date and information about the account balance.
3. Your Total Amount Due

This box at the top right of your bill provides a summary of your current and past amounts due, starting with your total amount due and the payment due date. There are many bill payment options to choose from including: Pre-authorized Payments, Online Banking, Mail, Payment Drop Box and Credit Card. Please allow enough time for your bill payment to reach our office by the due date to avoid the possibility of late payment charges.

On the top right of the bill is where the account number, billing date, and amount owing can be found.
4. Account Summary

Displays payment information including any billing adjustments, past due amounts and charges for the current billing period.

Ann account summary is present to display the previous balance, any adjustments, payments made, and any past due balance.
5. Current Charges (Account Details on Reverse)

Displays total amounts for both Electrical and Water & Sewer Services.

Under the heading current charges you can view the total charges from your electrical services and Municipal water and sewer services.
6. Electricity Usage History

Displays total electricity consumed for the billing period.

The Electricity Usage History graph provides a quick way to compare your usage from the current bill with the consumption of the previous 12 months.
7. Glossary of Terms

Displays detailed description of Electricity terms displayed on your invoice.

The Glossary of terms on page 2 of your bill provides an explanation of some common terms on your bill.
8. On-Peak, Mid-Peak and Off-Peak Consumption Details

Readings for each time-of-use (TOU) period within your billing cycle.

Under account usage you will get a break down on the charges for your electricity bill. If you are on Time of Use billing it will illustrate the usage at On-Peak, Mid-Peak, and Off-Peak times.
9. Water and Sewer Charges

Readings and summary of water & sewer bill components, collected on behalf of the City of Stratford and the Town of St. Marys.

Detailed information on water and sewage charges can be found at the bottom of page 2 on your Festival Hydro bill. These charges are billed on behalgf of the City of Stratford and the Town of St. Marys.
